Operation Corazon was created because of a desire to help people in Crisis. Laura (Nunez) Bowman is from Venezuela. She lived in Trinidad. She is now a 2nd grade teacher in the United States. She couldn’t stand by and watch as her people suffered. Like a modern-day Esther, she felt the burden to fight for her people. She stepped out in faith and went to Trinidad and met with her fellow Venezuelans. She heard their stories and was able to comfort them. That was the humble beginning of what is now becoming a movement to help people in crisis.

Corazon means “heart” in Spanish. That’s what Operation Corazon is all about. Love comes from the heart. Laura’s love for people can’t be contained. That’s because love comes from God. His heart is to go and help people in need.

“Love Never Fails” – 1 Corinthians 13:8

Love is an action word. Love goes after the one. Love forgives. Love embraces. Love compels us. It’s not self seeking. It desires to give. It preservers. It never fails. The bible says, three things remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. Nothing is more powerful than LOVE!

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” – Mark 12:30-31

The vision of Operation Corazon is to bring God’s love to people in crisis wherever they might be. How are they going to hear about Jesus if we don’t go? How will we go if we aren’t sent?

“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” – Romans 10:15
