Living Beyond Yourself
When you are generous with your time, talents and treasure, you are planting seeds of faith. By helping someone who can’t help themselves or who can’t pay you back, you are making an impact that will outlive you.
We are partnering with local Pastors in Trinidad to help Venezuelan Migrants in crisis. Currently, thousands of Venezuelans are residing in Trinidad. Venezuela is 7 miles from Trinidad. The majority have left Venezuela seeking for a brighter future for their families, however, many have not instituted an official asylum.
As a result, the uncertainty has Venezuelans there living in fear and seeking financial assistance by other means, where reports of human trafficking are rampant.

We have an opportunity to impact the world, wherever there are people in
crisis. God cares about the widow, the orphan, and the poor. He cares about the least of these...
Operation Corazon was created because of a desire to help people in Crisis. Laura (Nunez) Bowman is from Venezuela. She lived in Trinidad. She is now a 2nd grade teacher in the United States. She couldn’t stand by and watch as her people suffered.
When people are in crisis, it’s hard to think about education, but without it
we risk losing a generation and negatively impacting communities in the future.
Operation Corazon was created because of a desire to help people in Crisis. Laura (Nunez) Bowman is from Venezuela. She lived in Trinidad. She is now a 2nd grade teacher in the United States. She couldn’t stand by and watch as her people suffered. Like a modern-day Esther, she felt the burden to fight for her people. She stepped out in faith and went to Trinidad and met with her fellow Venezuelans. She heard their stories and was able to comfort them. That was the humble beginning of what is now becoming a movement to help people in crisis.
Our children our most vulnerable in the midst of a crisis. Educational opportunities might not exist if they are a migrant or refugee. Operation Corazon’s strategy is to educate parents and local leaders to provide education for children. We will also work with local governments to comply and even partner with existing or planned efforts. Education especially in Latin America will include English as a Second Language (ESL). By educating children, we are also mitigating and fighting against potential sex trafficking.
Operation Corazon is committed to sharing the good news about Jesus. Salvation is an important and critical part of our strategy. Jesus is critical to overcoming any difficult situation. We want to bring prayer and the word of God wherever we go.
